Thanks to our donors and supporters, our food bank is able to provide the “Lunch Express” mobile summer food delivery program. Unable to make it to a traditional site? The Lunch Express comes to you! ![]() But for children who do not attend these programs, hunger during the summer may be something they face every day. and other places where children in need of food assistance may gather. The food bank has operated a summer food program for our eight-county region since 2009 at sites like Boys & Girls Club, Girls Inc. Free and reduced school breakfasts and lunches help ensure these children don’t go hungry during the school year, but when school is out for the summer what can they do? Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee Summer Food Program is here to help. One in four children in rural Northeast Tennessee lives at or below the poverty level. I am as excited and thankful for this program as the kids are each summer. This is my second summer volunteering to ride the Lunch Express and feed children through the summer feeding program. My time spent learning about hunger in my community inspired me to become an advocate on hunger issues and to work with people in Northeast Tennessee and Feeding America-member Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee to come up with creative ways to bridge our hunger gaps. One thing that stuck with me the most was children coming to those places hungry because they did not have enough food at home. I spent a good deal of time during high school and college working in the afterschool programs and classrooms. Heidi will bring you a lunch,” Wayne, our fearless bus driver, repeated as the line of kids filed past him for a squirt of hand sanitizer before taking a seat. We had several parents and fifteen young, eager faces jumping around, ready to get on the Lunch Express for an early lunch. “Oh look, there is a crowd already waiting for us, “I said as we pulled into our first stop of this summer on the Lunch Express. Ian Eagle, a Syracuse graduate who was hired at CBS in 1998, is set to replace Nantz as the tournament’s lead play-by-play voice in 2024.Each year, the NCAA championship cheers turn into a hushed silence as TV viewers across the country gather around their sets to catch one last glimpse of basketball glory in a collection of clips played against the heartfelt song, "One Shining Moment." San Diego State coach Brian Dutcher was Steve Fisher’s top assistant in the next two title games called by Nantz, Michigan’s 71-51 blowout loss to Hurley’s Duke team in 1992 and the Fab Five’s loss to North Carolina, punctuated by Chris Webber’s infamous timeout call. On Monday night, Hurley’s brother, Dan, was on the sideline as coach of Connecticut’s team. Open your favorite factory planning app, and see how many of each thing you need. 1000 SPM is generally considered a megabase. Direct mining into a smelter, pumpjacks directly connected to an oil refinery etc.įirst thing to do is decide how many SPM you are going for. The no-input part is done in the editor by spawning a 3x3 resource patch where i need it, increase the amount of resources into it to a big number (usually 4G for a 3x3 patch) and copy/paste that patch where-ever i need it. One of the things i like is designing bases that are 'just in time', without large buffers that produce the exact amount of things that it is designed for, without any inputs and only 1 output (the result). I use the editor (/editor after pressing ~) to build and test a lot of bases as well. I've had train bases, belt bases and bot bases, all have their advantage and dis-advantages.īut as i said at the start, there are also other ways to build a megabase. I've build 'small' ~90-250SPM 'outposts' which i just build where ever there was a large patch of copper and iron close together and i've build factories for each intermediate type and science. To design the factory there are multiple ways to do it. I feed this into a calculator and start designing my factory. After that i usually pick an SPM target that i want to reach, for example one of my latest builds was 8 full belts of science packs, or 21.600 science packs per minute. Next i build 2-4 of them to reach 90-180 modules a minute. My outposts usually can do 45 modules per minute (ie: 4 t3 assemblers filled with speed modules and surrounded by 12 beacons with 2 speed modules in it), but at the start i dont have any modules, so i build them as if they were moduled and use the modules they produce to increase their speed. Next i start building outposts to build T3-speed modules and productivity modules (next to a large iron or copper patch). I usually look which one is the cheapest and research that one. If you want to do it 'vanilla' you need a starter base that gets you started with some infinite research, mostly bot speed and mining productivity. There are several approaches to build a megabase. Look both ways before you cross the tracks. The only significance is life, which leads to the further wisdom. Every assembler is but a visitor to where it resides. Let your anxiety wash away as you perceive that every belt placed can be moved. ![]() Most games punish you for building, demolishing and rebuilding. The authenticity of the bone fragments is also a matter of debate. “They found that he was genetically predisposed to liver disease and had hepatitis B, at least in the months leading up to his death.” The study also found that he did not have lead poisoning, as had been previously proposed, and that a separate famous lock of hair was not Beethoven’s at all, but that of an Ashkenazi Jewish woman. Researchers “sequenced two-thirds of Beethoven’s genome and examined it for clues on what might have led to his illnesses,” wrote Smithsonian magazine’s Will Sullivan. In March, a study published in the journal Current Biology offered new insight into the composer’s health through DNA analysis of his hair. “His autopsy revealed that he had cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis and a swollen spleen, among other ailments.” The renowned composer began to lose his hearing in his early 30s, and he had “a number of debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms and attacks of jaundice,” during his adult life, writes the Washington Post’s Adela Suliman. In 1802, Beethoven wrote a letter known as the Heiligenstadt Testament, in which he asked that, following his death, his doctor investigate the “lasting malady” that afflicted him during his lifetime. Beethoven’s physician was once a professor there, he adds, and “Beethoven himself, during his lifetime, wished that his illness be studied and researched after his death.” Müller thinks the Josephinum is an appropriate home for the fragments. The two large skull fragments and several smaller ones were found in a safe deposit box, inside a small tin faintly engraved with the composer's name.Įthically handling human remains is a delicate balance between “comprehensible public interest and respect for a deceased person,” says Markus Müller, rector of the university, in the statement. The fragments will be housed at the university’s museum, the Josephinum, while researchers continue to study the illnesses the composer experienced during his life and the cause of his death in 1827. “Not only will they come ‘home,’ to where Beethoven now rests forever, but also to the Medical University of Vienna, which will have them available for research.” “I feel very privileged to be able to return my inherited Beethoven skull fragments to where they belong,” says Kaufmann in a statement from the university. Last week, the contents of that little box found a new home when Kaufmann donated the bones to the Medical University of Vienna. Inside, in a small tin faintly inscribed with the composer’s name, he discovered two large bone fragments and several smaller ones, he tells CNN’s Lianne Kolirin and Ashley Strickland.
